PMIWDC Board Elections 2027–2029
PMIWDC is governed by a Board of Directors comprised of elected Chapter Officers who carry out its purpose and objectives
Nominations are open for officers to serve PMIWDC 2027-2029. The election process is underway in accordance with Article VI of the PMIWDC Bylaws

2026 Open Officer Position Descriptions:
Chair-Elect / Chief Operating Officer (COO)
Role Governance and Oversight
Term: 2 YearsVolunteer Commitment: 30+ hours/month
Successor to the Chair; elected volunteer who will assist the Chair with managing the chapter and assume the role of chapter Chair if the Chair is unwilling or unable to perform duties for any reason.

Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years PMIWDC Board experience
- Must have been elected by the PMIWDC membership and served on the PMIWDC Board; does not currently have to be an active board member
Key Responsibilities
- Represent the Chair in his or her absence
- Assume the role of Chair the year following successful completion of duties in this role
- Assume the role of Chair if the Chair is unwilling or unable to perform duties for any reason
- Engage with Chair to ensure a seamless transition
- Assist the Chair with his or her duties as requested
- Oversee ongoing activities to ensure compliance with policies and bylaws
- Review Chapter Policies and recommend changes
- Serve as member ex-officio with the right to vote on all committees except the nominating committee
- Mentor board leaders for their next leadership role
- In coordination with the Chair, assist in the development and implementation of a succession and transition plan
VP of Strategy & Governance
Role Governance and Oversight
Term: 3 YearsVolunteer Commitment: 30+ hours/month
Membership-elected volunteer leader responsible for assessing and guiding the strategic direction of the chapter while ensuring policy, bylaws, and organizational infrastructure are adapted appropriately to achieve desired goals, including enforcement of chapter policies and bylaws. Translates conceptual strategy into an actionable plan.

Qualifications
- 2+ years PMI volunteer experience (1-year PMIWDC experience required)
- 2+ years professional experience in strategic planning and policy development
- 5+ years with excellent knowledge of the Chapter's mission, vision, and values
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the 5-year strategic plan
- Review and update chapter policies
- Lead strategic planning in coordination with the entire board
- Engage VPs across functional areas to monitor trends that provide value to members
- Review the chapter strategic plan on an annual basis
- Lead a major assessment and revision effort every 5 years
- Ensure alignment between annual operational plans and the strategic plan by engaging with VPs
- Manage and oversee the Chapter's Policies and Bylaws
- Maintain and update bylaws/policy documents
- Lead the effort to develop new policies as the need arises
- Orient and educate board members on chapter policy and bylaws
- Execute the Strategic Plan and Chapter Governance in coordination with the Chapter Chair
- Evaluate quality of organizational activities to ensure value delivery to members
- Recommend structural governance changes that will improve delivery of value to members
VP of Marketing & Communications
RoleMarketing Leadership
Term: 3 YearsVolunteer Commitment: 30+ hours/month
Membership-elected volunteer leader responsible for developing and executing marketing strategies, overseeing brand positioning and messaging, and managing internal and external communications. Aligns communications with PMIWDC objectives, strengthens engagement, and drives growth and visibility.

- 2+ years professional experience in strategic planning and policy development
- 2+ years project or program management experience
- Prior project and/or program leadership experience leading large teams
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute an integrated marketing and communications strategy
- Lead brand stewardship in accordance with PMI global branding guidelines
- Coordinate marketing campaigns for PMIWDC events and special initiatives
- Draft executive messaging, announcements, and chapter-wide communications
- Ensure consistent brand voice and visual identity across all PMIWDC communications
- Ensure compliance with PMI global policies and brand standards
- Plan and manage multi-channel campaigns and member communications
- Manage content strategy and creative development
VP of Partnership Management
Role Partnership Coordination and Support
Term: 3 YearsVolunteer Commitment: 30+ hours/month
Membership-elected volunteer leader responsible for developing and sustaining relationships with project management entities. Markets the value of PMIWDC and obtains sponsorships to sustain events that promote the profession among our membership and within our communities.

- 2+ years PMI volunteer experience (1-year PMIWDC experience required)
- 2+ years of volunteer and/or professional leadership experience
- Experience in business value propositions, business development, negotiation, account management, marketing, stakeholder management, cross-functional collaboration, and joint ventures
- Sales and marketing background a plus
Key Responsibilities
- Establish and maintain alliances
- Promote engagement within and between corporations, government, non-profit organizations, educational institutions, and other PMI® chapters
- Participate in and attend events, including partner-sponsored events, to promote project management
- Promote growth for future project management professionals within their organizations
- Establish and maintain educational institution partnerships and PMI® Authorized Training Partners (ATPs)
- Promote the chapter's mission as the local educational partner liaison
- Manage relationships between chapter operations and local educational institutions
- Provide a platform for promoting PMIWDC to future PMs (e.g. students and young professionals)
- Establish and maintain partnerships with PMI® ATPs
- Build relationships with sponsors
- Support and disseminate the messages of chapter functional areas
- Provide revenue streams to the chapter through online advertising and sustained sponsorships
- Define strategic sponsorship packages that incorporate various chapter events, offerings, and online advertising
- Explore new Local Communities (LC), research the need, and recruit organizations and volunteers
- Assist new local community leaders in developing a sustaining infrastructure
- Facilitate the seamless transfer of LC operations support to VP Programs once fully operational
How to Apply
- If eligible and interested, you can become a nominee through either the Nominating Committee process or by petition. The deadline for consideration is July 31, 2026.
- Nomination Committee Process:
- Meet the eligibility requirements and submit the PMIWDC Nomination Form via email to nominations@pmiwdc.org no later than July 31, 2026.
- Petition Process:
- Meet the eligibility requirements and submit the PMIWDC Petition Form with signatures from at least 5% of the chapter membership. With approximately 10,000 members, 5% equals 500 signatures.
- Each page of the petition must include your name, PMI number, and the position for which you wish to compete.
- Each signature must include the signer's printed name, signature, PMI number, email address, and phone number.
- The signed petition is due to the Nominating Committee (nominations@pmiwdc.org) by August 15, 2026.
