Chris Girolamo is Vice President for the National Security Group with STG where he manages a portfolio of software development and technology driven programs for Department of State and Department of Homeland Security customers. During his 30 year career his focus has been on software engineering in numerous senior program, project management and organizational change roles. Additionally, he led variety of software lifecycle modernizations including the Executive Sponsor of a successful CMMI ML3 appraisal.

Rich originally hails from New York. He served in the U.S. Marines and later went on to obtain a commission in the U.S. Navy where he attained the rank of Lieutenant Commander. He worked for Perot Systems, a dot.com start-up, 8A’s, the U.S. Mint and now Unisys. Unfortunately his waist size started to exceed his age once he passed age 45!
Rich also instructed at Park College in Organizational Development courses. He volunteers at community organizations to inspire others to overcome obesity.
Rich holds many certifications from PMP, PMI-RMP, ITIL Expert in IT Service Management, Six Sigma Green Belt as well as certifications in Fitness, Nutrition and Wellness. He is the author of Small Simple Changes and many Project Management and Organizational Development articles. He holds a B.S from the University of the State of New York and a M.A. from Webster University.
Tony Maida is an Embry Riddle class of 2001 graduate in Engineering Physics and is currently pursuing his Masters in Computer Science at Capitol College. His career has spanned multiple technologies with companies like Sensis, SAIC, Lockheed Martin, EF Johnson Technologies, and TASC doing work in radars and wireless communications. His current work for the FAA through TASC entailed program management duties such as risk management. In order to further his career and understanding of program management best practices, he sought a PMI-RMP certification and did his coursework with Off-Peak Training. The usefulness of the PMI certification in risk management has allowed Tony to improve risk management and the way that risks are defined in his daily tasks.
Matthew Makai of Excella Consulting, provides consulting services to commercial and federal clients in the Washington, DC area. Matt designs and implements systems for clients with Python and Java using the Agile and Scrum methodologies. Marty Oard is a native of Van Nuys, CA, and has been a member of ASNE for approximately 5 years. He graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering from the U.S. Coast Guard Academy in 1984.
Upon graduation form the Coast Guard Academy, Marty served aboard the USCGC BOUTWELL, as a Student Engineer and Assistant Engineering Officer from 1984 to 1987. From 1987 to 1989, he was assigned to the Pre-Commissioning Detachment and served aboard the USCGC CAMPBELL as the Damage Control Assistant and Assistant Engineering Officer. In 1989, Marty Oard began graduate studies at the University of Michigan-Ann Arbor, earning Masters Degrees in Naval Architecture & Marine Engineering and Mechanical Engineering in 1991. After graduate school, he served as the Engineering Officer onboard the CGCGC TAMPA, homeported in Portsmouth, Virginia, from 1991 to 1994.
In the spring of 2006, Marty accepted a position as the Coast Guard Yard’s Business Manager. In the fall of 2006, Marty moved back to the Tidewater area of Virginia and accepted a position with BMT Designers & Planners as the Post Delivery Trials & Tests coordinator for the Coast Guard National Security Cutter. He is currently the Chief of Logistics and Reliability Centered Maintenance for BMT Designers & Planners.
Marty achieve his PMI-SP certification in September of 2011. In addition to membership in PMI, Marty has been an active member of American Society of Naval Engineers (ASNE) Tidewater Section since returning to the area in 2006. He served on the Fleet Maintenance Symposium 2007 committee, was elected as the Section Secretary in 2008, the Section Vice Chairman in 2009, and became the Section Chairman in 2010.
