Welcome to PMIWDC 2017!

As we start the 2017 New Year here at PMIWDC, we are very excited to hold our monthly chapter events at a new location, on a new day, and even with a new format!

Project Management Day of Service (PMDoS®) 2017

On January 16, 2017, Martin Luther King Day, a national day of service, over 250 project management volunteers came together to help launch over 50 critical nonprofit initiatives spanning three major metropolitan areas—Washington, DC, New York, NY, and Norfolk, VA—for the 3rd annual Project Management Day of Service (PMDoS®). PMDoS, the signature event of the nonprofit Project Management for Change, is a community outreach event of unprecedented scale enabling pro-bono Project Management services for nonprofits and social-change organizations.

Introducing the New 2017 PMIWDC Chapter CFO: Jason Legum, PMP

Meet Jason Legum - the new 2017 CFO. Jason began by volunteering 6 years ago as Records Management AVP before becoming VP of Records Management and before combining those operations with business services to create and head the Operations Services operational area. During that time, Jason focused on managing costs, finding opportunities to improve services common to all operational areas, and improve the chapter's knowledge management. His latest never-ending mission is to empower the strategy development team so the chapter can have a mission, vision, and strategy connecting our stakeholders and aligning our operations.

Introducing the New 2017 PMIWDC Chapter Vice-Chair: Andy Walker, PMP

Meet Andy Walker – the new 2017 PMIWDC Chapter Chair and CEO. Andy has volunteered for over 6 years starting as a volunteer with the Programs Committee assisting in recruiting speakers for our chapter dinner meetings. Andy quickly ascended to AVP of Evening Programs and was subsequently elected to VP Programs in 2012. In 2014 Andy was elected to the Governance Board as a Director-at-Large where he took on a special assignment as the PM over the planning and execution of the annual 2015 PM Symposium.

Introducing the New 2017 PMIWDC Chapter Vice-Chair: Kevin Roney, PMP

Meet Kevin Roney – the 2017 PMIWDC Chapter Vice-Chair and Chief Operations Officer (COO). Kevin has volunteered for over 6 years starting with the Professional Development (PD) Committee, assisting in the chapter’s PMP prep classes. Kevin eagerly accepted the challenges of Assistant Vice President PD in 2011. He subsequently was elected by chapter members to Vice President PD in 2013. In 2015 Kevin was honored to elected by chapter members to the Governance Board as a Director-at-Large where he worked on special assignments supporting the chapter’s nomination committee and chapter’s military veteran programs.
