The class is intended to help participants prepare for the PMP exam, and is taught by a certified Project Management Professional, who has years of practical project management experience. Those wishing to attend the classes should already have a background in project management fundamentals. The course will serve as a review for experienced project managers preparing for the PMP Exam.
This PMP training course is not just a test prep course. Study exam topics through the lens of the Ten Knowledge Areas while developing and reinforcing real-world project management skills.
The first part of this PMP and CAPM® this PMP training course is not just a test prep course. Learn Project Management using the context of the PMI® Process Groups through skills-based training developed using a proven methodology to meet your PMP goals. Study exam topics through the lens of the Ten Knowledge Areas while developing and reinforcing real-world project management skills. The second part of the course examines the specific skills of project management through the lens of the Ten Knowledge Areas. Special importance is given to those concepts which historically have been emphasized by PMI, including memorization of guides and diagrams. Intense question review and focused memorization are an integral part of this section.
This PMP/CAPM course also offers in-class practice exams to help you learn not only the project management knowledge, but also the nature of the Project Management Professional exam, the types of questions asked, and the form the questions take. Through practice exercises, you will gain valuable information, learn how to rapidly recall important facts, and generally increase your test-taking skills.

The PMP Prep class is based on the “Guide to the PMBOK 6th Edition” content and knowledge areas. The course instruction is taught by experts in the subject matter.
All registered participants will receive the following documents:
• Hard copy of the PMBOK 6th Edition and Flashcards
• A Digital Course Workbook (please bring a laptop)
• Digital Exam Simulations, Exam Simulations Tools and Video Resources
• Additional out of classroom study assignments will be given for the additional contact hours needed for the exam.
• Certificate of Completion with relevant PMI-PDU information
The chapter recommends that participants taking this class be qualified and plan a scheduled date for their PMP exam soon after the end of the class. Please note that PMI requires that all of the project management courseware needed for the 35 contact hours be completed at time of application. You must complete the course before you submit your application.
This course is intended to reduce the overall hours of study required to pass the PMP exam. Please register/qualify to take the exam by completing the PMI Global Operations Center (GOC) registration form available on the PMI website. After you receive notice from PMI GOC of your qualification to take the exam, Prometric will administer the PMP exam on a date and time you arrange. This can be done at any time of year and at a number of different sites. In addition, it is helpful to review PMI's PMP Certification Handbook for further guidance on preparing for the exam. Cancellation policy: Full refund of course fee if notification received 7 days prior to first session. 50% refund between 7 days and 48 hours prior to first session. No refunds will be made for cancellations received less than 48 hours before the first session.
26 contact hours shall be taught over two weekends (Saturday/Sunday). Additional out of classroom study assignments will be given for the additional 9 contact hours needed for the exam.
This class goes from 8:30 am to 4:00 pm each day.
About the Speakers
Harlan Bridges, PMP, PMI-ACP, ICP-CP, ICP-BVA
Harlan is a proven leader and Project Management Professional with over 30 years of experience in business management, web development, software development and technical communication projects and programs. He has a track record of expertly managing departments, business units, complex multi-million dollar projects and programs with remotely located teams. He has a strong background in business management, and Project Management Office (PMO) implementation.
Harlan demonstrated leadership ability as an operational, project, and program manager. He also
successfully led technology organizations for large corporations such as Hewlett Packard/Compaq (e-14 Commerce Manager) and Mercer Consulting, managed technology projects for web design firms and a Top Five consulting firm, implemented project management offices (PMO) and conducted project management training in corporate and government environments. Harlan is currently an adjunct professor at Utah Valley University where he is teaching an upper level class in Advance Project Management.
Harlan is able to use his extensive experience to provide real world guidance for students. He also has sat through many major certification exams, and knows how to teach the courses to help students pass. Harlan employs the “teach from back of the room” approach by incorporating activities that allow students to teach themselves and use “teachback” opportunities. This engages students and makes them actively involved in their own learning.

As an expert in Project Management: Harlan began his career as a Project Management Professional after earning his BS from New York Institute of Technology. Early in his career he began working in Project Management, where he was able to show his leadership and ability to successfully take on internal and vendor projects. After this, he became a Consulting Project Manager where he had multiple notable clients. In this position, Harlan mastered the art of Project Management, going on to become the Senior Project Manager and PMO Consultant for Dewpoint, Inc. Since then, he has been a PMO Implementation Manager, PMO Setup Practice Lead, and most recently the Project Manager of the
Ecommerce program for Meijer.
Harlan’s passion for project extends beyond his work. He is a former President of the Project Management Institute Michigan Capital Area Chapter and has recently relocated to Austin, TX. He is also the contributing author for “Business Driven PMO Success Stories: Across Industries and Around the World” (2013) and “Project Pain Reliever: A Just-In-Time Handbook for Anyone Managing Projects” (2013).
