About the Program

As a Program Manager, a key ingredient to continuing success is your ability to recognize what it takes to manage change, pressure, and setbacks which are key ingredients to higher levels of professional and personal success. This session will help you: (1) Identify the “pillars” of resiliency; (2) Give you an opportunity to practice resilient thinking through individual and small group exercises; and (3) Provide tips on steps to take to consistently be more resilient in and outside the office.

Ms. Cynthia Miller founded Purposeful Solutions, LLC in 2007 as an organization effectiveness consulting and facilitation firm and has since narrowed her focus to leadership and life coaching. She is a certified coach with the International Coaching Federation with a track record of assisting clients in developing skills in self and relationship management as it relates to both professional and personal environments.

Cynthia dedicates her business to cultivating improved business solutions through building enhanced customer service, improved workplace communication and interpersonal relationships. Cynthia coaches individual to develop “behavioral adaptability” meaning they develop awareness of situations with people enough to choose specific techniques that apply to a strategic focus on a case by case basis. Cynthia coaches and develops clients to purposefully identify and successfully work with their strengths utilizing two different tools including DISC Styles and the VIA Classification of 24 Character Strengths allowing individuals to explore how to optimize these qualities in the workplace and non-workplace situations. She is certified in the Social and Emotional Intelligence Profile as developed by the Institute of Social and Emotional Intelligence (ISEI) Denver and offers this tool in connecting leadership skill development with the behavioral adaptability concept above.

Through her professional career in Federal Service and leadership level volunteering in several not-for-profit organizations (including Toastmasters), Cynthia brings a broad perspective to her approaches to coaching and consulting as she guides her clients toward their purposeful solutions. Cynthia holds the ICF credential of Associate Certified Coach (ACC) and in the facilitation community has been a certified Professional Facilitator (CPF) for the last 11+ years.

Cynthia’s company, Purposeful Solutions, LLC won the International Association of Facilitators Gold Achievement Award in 2013 for excellence in facilitation for her work with NASA Office of Legislation and Intergovernmental Affairs.

Cynthia currently serves on the Board of the Institute of Management Consultants DC Chapter; is a volunteer with the Leadership Fairfax as an ELI coach; is active member on the Capital Coaches Conference 2015 Program Committee and serves as the VAST (Virginia Advanced Speakers Toastmasters) VP Membership. She “retired” her motorcycle “Lola” in 2014 and now devotes more time to making a difference with others traveling with her husband Jerry.
