About the Program

One of the high priority tasks during Project Initiation is making sure all relevant stakeholders have been identified. Failure to do so can negatively impact a Project Manager’s ability to define the scope, select the effective strategies, and accurately estimate the project. As we all know, new stakeholders making their presence known late in Project Execution phase can cause significant re-work for the Project Manager and project team. In this session, we will review strategies to identify all our project stakeholders and to choose appropriate characteristics to rate or classify the project stakeholders as “major”, “medium”, or “minor”. These stakeholder ratings provide input into the Communications Management Plan to ensure our desired level of stakeholder engagement throughout the project.
