About the Program

More and more project managers are faced with managing project teams that are widely distributed across geographic, cultural, and organizational borders. How do we lead these distributed project teams? How do we form strong teams, with everyone working together to achieve project success?  The biggest success factor when managing virtual teams is communication. In this presentation, the importance of planning and communicating with intent will be discussed.  Several key communication challenges of distributed teams will be presented and how communication planning can address these issues.

Rich and meaningful communication can do more than report status – it can smooth resistance, improve decision making, and build trust among stakeholders. But a basic communication plan – who, what, when – is not always enough. This presentation will discuss how to develop a communications strategy designed around a strong project narrative and disciplined messaging, and how to execute the strategy to improve stakeholder relationships and drive successful project outcomes.
