About the Program
There are many who are still unclear as to how similar / different these two professions are. This presentation attempts to bring some clarify to this confusion – drawing upon the speaker’s experience of doing both for many, many years.

About the Speaker
Shankar A. Iyer, PMP
Mr. Shankar A. Iyer’s, PMP career has span over three decades managing a multitude of diverse projects in varied roles in Advertising, Business, Marketing, Marketing Research, Product and Project Management leading multinational firms in many different industries. He has a Bachelors' degree in Electrical (Electronics) Engineering and Masters' degrees in Business Administration (majoring in Marketing, Operations Research & International Business), augmented by several executive training programs at world-renown business schools. He has been an adjunct faculty for many years, most recently at George Washington University where he taught undergraduate, graduate and executive management classes in Marketing Management. He is also teaching the PMP Certification Course for Virginia Tech.
Mr. Iyer last worked as a senior Program Manager at Exelis Corporation, a member of the team serving the Federal Aviation Administration. He is an active volunteer for PMIWDC, untill recently its Associate VP, Local Communities. He lives in Northern Virginia, where his activities include twice-daily walks with his dog Shyam.
