About the Presentation
The parallels between successful parenthood and a successful leadership experience in the work place are remarkable. Employees express a wide array of needs that are matched only by those of our own growing children. The expectations an employee has of his or her supervisor is akin that of children and their parents. Think about it – unselfishness, goal setting, communication, discipline, rules, trust, expectations, rewards and punishments, workload distribution and more…what we do at home and how we do it can help us be more successful at work and vice versa!
In this fun and fast-paced workshop, Dave Maurer and Rob Collinsworth (both parents and both leaders) will demonstrate how the skills possessed by parents can help us become better leaders in the workforce and the leadership skills we have honed over the years can help us become more committed and nurturing parents. You will leave with new perspectives on both sets of relationships and will be armed with tools you can use immediately!
