A phenomenon called the wisdom of crowds has been shown to be surprisingly accurate at predicting future events. What if you could monitor the collective wisdom of a defined crowd on a nearly continuous basis? Such is the capability provided by software systems called prediction markets. This presentation will introduce this relatively new class of tools, explain how they work, and provide an overview of how they could apply to portfolio, program and project management. The presentation will also include a survey of the major prediction market publishers and how to contact them for more information.

About the PM Tools Workshops

PM Tools is PMIWDC's workshop series that addresses the practical aspects of Project Management.

Both the PM Tools session and the monthly dinner meeting are worth 1 Professional Development Unit (PDU) each to certified PMPs. Continued certification as a PMP requires the accumulation of these valuable credits and we are pleased to offer this opportunity to obtain both the important training and the educational credit associated with it.
