UMT - PMIWDC Nonacademic Scholarship Program

To promote and further academic and professional development education in project management, the UMT offered a non-academic scholarship to the PMIWDC membership that enables the recipient to take up to $2,000 worth of online UMT courses. UMT is accredited by the Distance Education and Training Council (DETC) and by the PMI Global Accreditation Center (GAC). It also is a PMI Global Registered Education Provider (REP) and a global leader in higher education in project management.

These scholarships will enable the recipients to take up to $2,000 worth of online courses at the University of Management and Technology to support their needs in academic or professional development education in project management. The scholarships are open to all PMIWDC members, with the exception of members holding elected or appointed offices.

Deadlines and Schedule

UMT Academic Scholarships are evaluated on January 31st of each year. If you submit an application any time after midnight on February 1st, your application will be considered for the following year. PMIWDC does not make exceptions to this deadline. 

PMIWDC will notify scholarship recipients by March 1st.

A Scholarship for Non-Degree Students

This Non-Academic Scholarship program is intended for students pursuing continuing education without the intention of earning a degree. If you are pursuing a degree or are seeking credit hours towards an academic degree, please apply our the PMI - UMT Academic Scholarship, which has different deadlines and qualification criteria.

Qualifications

  1. Applicants must be PMIWDC members. Board members and members on the scholarship committee are not eligible.

  2. Applicants must be PMP certified or working towards PMP certification.

  3. Past recipients of this scholarship may not apply again

Apply for the Scholarship

General Conditions:

  1. The UMT scholarship is open to any PMIWDC member pursuing continuing project management education except PMIWDC elected officers and volunteer staff involved in the evaluation of applications for scholarship.

  2. This prize will be available to anyone globally, since UMT provides virtual classrooms study.

  3. Successful recipients may not apply again.

  4. An alternate applicant may be selected in case the first person can not accept.

  5. Unsuccessful applicants may reapply in a subsequent term.

  6. Any recipient of this award who for whatever reason does not proceed to register with UMT within two months will lose their right to the scholarship, and the Scholarship Committee will select the next candidate in line for the award.

  7. If it is determined that no candidate is deserving of the award, then the unclaimed award will carry forward to the following term. In the following term, the Scholarship Committee will choose two candidates for the award.

Candidate Evaluation and Selection:

  1. A UMT-PMIWDC scholarship committee will be convened comprising three to five PMIWDC members and chaired by a member of the PMIWDC Board.

  2. Applications will be reviewed and scholarships will be awarded based on the application submitted.

  3. Scholarships will be awarded without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, or state of physical handicap.

  4. PMIWDC members holding elected or appointed offices are not eligible.

  5. Recipients will be notified by  March 1st.

  6. All decisions of the UMT-PMIWDC Scholarship Program and its committee are final. UMT will review and approve the Scholarship Committee recommendation, provided the applicant meets the qualifications spelled out in this document.No appeals will be considered.
