Inuagural CAPM Preparation Session
On Saturday, August 26th at SETA Headquarters in McLean, Virginia, 29 students kicked off the inaugural session of PMIWDC’s Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM) Exam Preparation Course. The students took advantage of this unique learning opportunity by enrolling in one of the first CAPM prep courses offered by any chapter since the Global Operations Center updated the credential in December. PMIWDC President Andrew Anderson provided welcoming remarks to the enthusiastic class, followed by expert instruction from Mark Holdrege, Ron Taylor (President-Elect), and Craig Peterson. The class will meet for three Saturdays, accumulating 23 contact hours towards the CAPM eligibility criteria.
The dedicated volunteer efforts of the PMIWDC CAPM Committee were the driving force behind this unprecedented event. CAPM Committee Members include Richard Tenney, Sumita Pradhan, Paul Aaron (AVP Professional Development), and Kriste Jordan (VP Professional Development). Course instructors include Ron Taylor (President-Elect); Mark Holdrege, Craig Peterson, John Cormier (Director at Large), Bruce Shaw (Director at Large), Mark Tolbert (VP Programs), and Sam Lane. The Committee is planning for the next CAPM Exam Prep Course to take place in 2006.
