Career Day 2011 Guide for Employers and Vendors

Your decision to participate will help ensure the success for vendors and attendees alike, as well as PMIWDC. The Career Day 2011 Committee wants to extend a hand to your company and provide the following important details. The information below should give you everything you need to prepare for the event.

How to get to Career Day by driving or by public transport

7:00am: Set up begins.
7:30am: Employer and Vendor registration open and set up continues.
8:00am: Doors for the general public open.
Exhibit Space closes at 5:00 pm

Deliveries
Employers and Vendors are asked to bring all of their required supplies with them on Career Day to set up. However, if you need to make arrangements to have items delivered, please contact us.
Getting There
Public Transport
Closest Metro station is Dunn Loring, on the Orange Line. The Metro stop is 2 miles away from the hotel.
Marriott is providing shuttle service from the Dunn Loring station. The shuttle runs every hour arriving at the metro station at approximately 45 minutes after the hour and returning to the hotel on the hour.
Metro bus #1B towards Ballston also has a stop at the Marriott hotel.
Be sure to check the WMATA trip planner before you leave, so that you can plan alternate routes in case of service outages.
Driving
The hotel is just off Route 50 via the Fairview Park Drive South exit.
Follow the signs to the Marriott and Marriott parking.
There is complimentary on-site parking at the hotel.
Benefits
To Expect Before and During Career Day
Through Friday, September 16th, 2011, all registration packages include the following benefits. September 16th is the last day registrants may be guaranteed the full array of sponsor benefits.
Benefits before the event: (From date of registration through October 7, 2011.)
- Choice of location in the exhibit hall – first come first serve (after registration)
- Name listed in the PMIWDC newsletter and any communications about career day to our distribution list of over 40,000 recipients
- Name listed on the PMIWDC career day website. PMIWDC webpage receives over 3,000 visits per day
- Name listed on announcement slide at each PMIWDC monthly dinner meeting until the day of the event
- Employers have access to registrant's resumes prior to the event. This will provide a means for employers to contact individuals to schedule interviews according to their mutual interests.
Benefits during the event:
- Exhibit hall opened from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. Access for setup will begin at 7:00 am.
- Breaks scheduled so participants can interact with employers/vendors
- Free wireless (bring your network card to access the internet)
- Continental breakfast and lunch for two
- Name listed in the event program
Benefits after the event:
- Name mentioned in all post event reports and articles
Viewing attendee resumes on the Job Board
How to review the resumes of attendees and contact them
As an employer at PMIWDC Career Day 2011, you'll want to start looking at some resumes of participants attending the event. Career Day resumes are handled through the new PMIWDC Job Board.
The PMIWDC Job Board is normally only available to PMIWDC members, but through a special arrangement with Career Day non-member job seekers are given an account at no charge, where you'll be able to see resumes from all the attendees who post them.
All employers have been sent an email with information about how to access their job board accounts. Please let us know if you haven't received yours yet, so that we can resend.
