Meet Your Volunteer - Leigh Albert

Coming from a traditional voice communications background Leigh is currently expanding her horizons in the internet arena as a recent addition to the Neustar team. Neustar is world renown as a universally trusted intermediary delivering addressing, interoperability, and infrastructure services worldwide to communication service providers, enterprises, associations, governments and regulatory agencies.
Prompted by her desire to improve her professional skills and expand her well established qualifications in Product and Proposal Management, and Process Reengineering via professional certification as a PMP, Leigh joined PMIWDC in 2009. Almost immediately (while diligently studying for and earning her PMP certification – Congrats Leigh!) she sought out opportunities to get involved as PMIWDC volunteer.
Currently Leigh serves as an AVP in Business Services and was a key member of the executive team that recently completed a successful project to update PMIWDC’s event planning processes and the accompanying documentation. Her BPR experience served her well as she collaborated with a number other VPs to determine what was and wasn’t working to update existing processes and add the appropriate degree of documentation. Leigh and her colleagues plan to continue improving and adding to the chapter’s event planning processes and documentation and encouraging PMIWDC volunteers to recommend new, interesting events in 2010.
Leigh comes from an amazingly artistic family and in her spare time can always be found pursuing some creative activity such as making jewelry, sewing or making her own greeting cards.
