The PMI, Washington DC Chapter and the KXF Committee invite you to attend the first Knowledge Exchange Forum field trip. This is a great new addition to the KXF concept where private, public, government, and non-profit organizations in the DC area open their doors to show and tell their successes in Project Management. The Field Trip program furthers the spirit of the KXF by offering attendees peer-to-peer knowledge sharing with leading organizations in our community.
Our first field trip is to The Nature Conservancy (TNC). TNC, along with CGI Federal, will share real world PMO know-how with you and your peers on Friday November 17, 2006. We are excited about having our first field trip with these two organizations.
Why Attend?
By attending the Field Trip program, you have the opportunity to
increase your social network and take away (as well as provide to
others) practical tips, tricks, lessons learned, and new techniques in
managing projects.
Specifically, the field trip to The Nature Conservancy will
provide PMO know-how from PMO architects and managers from two
organizations: a non-profit (TNC) and a federal systems integrator (CGI
Federal). Together, TNC and CGI Federal PMO architects and managers,
who have first-hand experience building and growing their
organization’s PMO, will present their unique perspective and share
details surrounding the following topics:
• History and how these organizations developed their PMO
• Critical Success Factors
• Lessons Learned, including real-life examples and insight
into what worked and what did not work
• Measures of PMO Success
In the spirit of the KXF, our agenda will allow you to discuss and engage with your peers in small group dialogue. TNC and CGI Federal will kick off the session with a 30 minute presentation per organization, followed by break-out sessions in which attendees will engage in peer-to-peer knowledge sharing. Please bring your experience and questions. Also, please let us know if there are additional topics that you would like to explore.
The PMO recommendations for you to take away and apply immediately are less than two months away! We hope you can participate and don’t forget, with your participation, you will earn 2 PDUs. Additionally, a lite fare selection of food and drinks will be served at each session.
