College Outreach Program
The College Outreach Committee engages Washington, DC area colleges and universities to facilitate understanding by undergraduate and graduate students about the role of project managers in today’s technology-driven organizations and to promote project management as an interesting and rewarding career. The Committee is always seeking new volunteers for its growing program of activities.

Programs and Activities
PMP Guest Speakers
The Committee responds to requests from area professors seeking outside subject matter experts on various project management and related topics to appear as guest lecturers at their classes. Presentation topics may be specified by professors or may include any PMI process or knowledge area. Real world experiences and “war stories” from PMPs covering application of PMI principles to actual projects in various industries and settings are sought.

Internship Clearinghouse
The Committee assists area Universities and PMI members to locate internship opportunities and to recruit qualified students to fill PMI corporate member internship vacancies.
Dining with Corporate Members
The Committee develops opportunities for area college and university students to be hosted by PMIWDC Corporate Table sponsors at monthly dinner meetings at the Sheraton Premiere Tysons Corner. This program provides students the opportunity to network with some of the leading area employers and practitioners of project management.
