2008 Spring George Patton Memorial Scholarship Recipient - Don Philmlee

Don PhilmleeThe PMI Washington, DC Chapter is pleased to announce that Mr. Don Philmlee is the winner of the George Patton Memorial Scholarship for Spring, 2008. Mr. Philmlee is currently a legal technology consultant and was the founding partner for the Potomac Consulting Group

Mr. Philmlee graduated from Northern Illinois University with a Bachelor of Arts in Public Law. He is a member of the Editorial Board for Practice Innovations, a Thomson-West publication. He holds the PMP credential and the CISSP, Certified Information Systems Security Professional certification.

The George Patton Memorial Scholarship is intended to assist PMIWDC chapter members in funding continuing education coursework. The scholarship awards a maximum of $2,000 to one or more applicants, twice per year.

PMIWDC 2008 Academic Scholarship Recipient - Will Cantrell

Will CantrellThe PMI Washington, DC Chapter is pleased to announce that Mr. Will Cantrell is the winner of the PMIWDC 2008 Academic Scholarship. Mr. Cantrell has held numerous project management positions and currently is employed with the Convergys Corporation, Reston, Virginia as project manager. He is currently seeking a Master of Science Degree in Project Management from the George Washington University. Mr. Cantrell is a PMI member, holds the PMP certification and also holds the Gartner Certified Associate in IT Project Management and Microsoft Certified Professional + Internet (MCP+I). Mr. Cantrell is also actively involved in several of the PMIWDC Chapter's volunteer committees.

The PWIWDC Academic Scholarship was created to promote and further academic and professional development education in project management. It provides the recipient a total of $2000 for pursuing a for-credit education in project management at one of the following institutions: University of Maryland, University of Virginia, Virginia Tech, The George Washington University, American University, or George Mason University. The scholarship is administered through PMI's Educational Foundation.

2008 Fall George Patton Memorial Scholarship Recipient - Guesla Ngueneba

Guesla NguenebaThe PMI Washington, DC Chapter is pleased to announce that Ms. Guesla Ngueneba is the winner of the George Patton Memorial Scholarship for Fall, 2008. Ms. Ngueneba is currently in the Masters Degree Program for Project Management at the University of Maryland University College and is expected to graduate in 2009. She currently holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration.

The George Patton Memorial Scholarship is intended to assist PMIWDC chapter members in funding continuing education coursework. The scholarship awards a maximum of $2,000 to one or more applicants, twice per year.

UMT-PMIWDC 2008 Academic Scholarship Recipient - Nancy Summers

Nancy SummersThe PMI Washington, DC Chapter is pleased to announce that Ms. Nancy Summers is the winner of the UMT-PMIWDC 2008 Academic Scholarship. Ms. Summers is currently a Team Leader for IIF Data Solutions, Inc and has held positions as a project manager and information center consultant.  She is continuing her project management education at the University of Management and Technology (UMT) in Arlington, Virginia. Ms. Summers is a PMI member and holds the PMP certification.

The UMT-PMIWDC Academic Scholarship was created to promote and further academic and professional development education in project management. It enables recipients to take up to $2,000 worth of UMT courses to support their needs in academic and professional development education in project management.

The University of Management and Technology is accredited by the Distance Education and Training Council (DETC) and by the PMI© Global Accreditation Center (GAC). It also is a PMI Global Registered Education Provider (REP) and a global leader in higher education in project management.

UMT-PMIWDC 2008 Non-Academic Scholarship Recipient - Charlie Wu

Charlie Wu PortraitThe PMI Washington, DC Chapter is pleased to announce that Mr. Charlie Wu is the winner of the UMT-PMIWDC 2008 Non-Academic Scholarship. Mr. Wu, currently a Senior Management Consultant for G&B Solutions, Inc in Virginia, is continuing his project management education at the University of Management and Technology (UMT) in Arlington, Virginia to prepare him for the PMP exam. In addition to his educational training in project management, Mr. Wu has a M.S. in Computer Science from George Washington University and a B.S. in Industrial Engineering from Tunghai University in Taichung, Taiwan. The PMI Washington, DC Chapter is pleased to announce that Mr. Dean Elyossri is the winner of the George Patton Memorial Scholarship for Fall 2007. Mr. Elyossir is currently the Assistant Director of Finance at Technologies Managements Applications Resources in Vienna, Virginia. He is also a Hotel Supervisor at the Westfield’s Marriott International in Chantilly, Virginia.

Mr. Elyossir has a Master of Science Degree in Computer Science & Mathematics and Bachelor of Science Degree Finance & Computer Science. Mr. Elyossir is a PMI member and is currently studying for his PMP exam.

The PMI Washington, DC Chapter is please to announce that Ms. Caroline Trudeau is the winner of the PMIWDC 2007 Academic Scholarship. Ms. Trudeau has held numerous project management positions and currently is employed with NavigationArts, LLC as an Engagement Manager. She is currently seeking a Master of Science Degree in Project Management from the George Washington University. Mr. Trudeau is a PMI member, holds the PMP certification and has been actively involved in several of the Chapter’s volunteer committees.
