PMIWDC Toastmasters Club #01

The first Toastmasters club in the world offering Professional Development Units (PDUs) for Project Management Professionals (PMPs)

The PMIWDC#01 Toastmasters recognizes the value of a non-threatening atmosphere of fostering our self-development efforts. The level of camaraderie is high and the atmosphere is cooperative and supportive. Meeting consists of three main activities:

• TABLE TOPICS: Table Topics provide opportunities to practice impromptu speaking skills critically important in business and at home.
• SPEECHES: At each meeting, selected members give prepared speeches.
• EVALUATION: Each speaker receives immediate feedback in the form of evaluation by a fellow club member. Evaluations are constructive and helpful, and are based on specific guidelines provided in the manual for each speech.

Other important roles in each meeting include Toastmaster of the Evening (Chairperson), Timer, Grammarian, etc. Members take turns practicing their listening and leadership skills when they fill these essential functions.
