PMIWDC Strategic Plan

Your Governance Board has been hard at work the past six months establishing the first PMIWDC Strategic Plan. The horizon for the plan is five years (2010 – 2014). This plan sets forth the mission, values, and strategic objectives of the chapter. These goals have been mapped to PMI’s objectives, and describes how those objectives will be met through current and future initiatives.

The development of this plan was initiated by the 2009 Governance Board.  One of the key responsibilities of the Governance Board is to establish the strategic direction of the chapter. The intent of the plan is to set the direction for the chapter’s annual operations planning cycle. Using the Strategic Plan, the Operations Board will develop plans and budgets that are aligned with the Strategic Plan.

You can view the chapter strategic plan at www.pmiwdc.org/2009-2014-strategic-plan

Nominations for PM of the Year Award

PMIWDC is accepting nominations for the 2nd annual Project Manager of the Year award.

This is your opportunity to recognize a peer, friend, or co-worker for their significant contribution to a project effort.  Don’t wait until the last minute!

It frequently falls to a Project Manager to fill any gaps in tools, process, and supporting roles while meeting the daily challenges of his/her project effort.  Everyone knows a deserving individual that not only gets the job done but also excels at the task of delivering successful outcomes and being a true leader for their project team.

Later this year, the Project Management Institute, Washington DC (PMIWDC) will recognize and reward the best of the best in the DC area at its Project Manager of the Year Awards ceremony.
