About the Chapter to Chapter Program

The PMIWDC Chapter-To-Chapter program is focused on establishing and maintaining a series of relationships between our Chapter and other chapters outside of the United States. These relationships are built to be mutually beneficial and typically include exchanging speakers, exchanging members and sharing information.

We seek value from this program by fostering the development of relationships that advance the project management profession and by engaging and energizing our Chapter membership.

History:

The Chapter-To-Chapter program was launched in 2005 and has built relationships with three countries; additional relationships are in the works. Please click the History link for a complete and concise history of the PMIWDC Chapter-To-Chapter program.

The impact of relationships between Chapters can be compelling. Uruguay “brought tears” and Brazil results continue to cascade. A sampling of information and reports from, and stories about, these relationships are available at our Chapter to Chapter Program Information page

Awards:

PMIWDC earned the PMI 2006 Component Award for Community Involvement for the Chapter’s outreach programs, including the Chapter-To-Chapter program. A copy of the July 7, 2006 award letter is viewable via the Awards link.

Interest in and recognition of the Chapter-To-Chapter program continues to grow. A copy of the article published in the November 2006 PMI Today issue is available by selecting the Recognition link.

Charter:

The activities in the Chapter-To-Chapter program continue to be supported by the PMIWDC leadership. A copy of the October 24, 2005 Chapter-To-Chapter formation document, approved by the PMIWDC Board, is available by clicking the Charter link.

Selection Criteria:

Relationships with chapters have benefits and costs; the process for giving consideration to proposed chapter relationships and making selections can be aided through the use of a set of criteria. The Selection Criteria link provides a copy of the draft set of selection criteria that is pending submission to the PMIWDC Board.

Status:

The Chapter-To-Chapter program is actively engaged in relationships with Uruguay, Brazil, and India. Activities are underway which could lead to relationships with Toronto, Canada and Moscow, Russia. Up-to-date brief description of Chapter-To-Chapter program status as of May 11, 2007 as well as pervious status reports are available via the Status link.

Our Chapter:

The PMIWDC Chapter has assembled an information package for release to other chapters looking for some insight into meeting their own chapter goals. It contains information about who the PMIWDC Chapter is, what we do, how we reach out to others, and how we stimulate and manage growth. A presentation summarizing key aspects of our Chapter is available by choosing the Our Chapter link.
