About the Program
A World of Metrics—Make Every Picture Tell A StoryIn this world of earned value and performance management:
- Why does it all seem so hard?
- Why are we working so hard to provide the numbers, but they don’t seem to be doing anything to help us control our project?
- Why are we being forced to do this in the first place?
Come hear Ursula Kuehn, PMP, EVP, author of Integrated Cost and Schedule Control in Project Management, show you how to make your earned value metrics tell a story. She will discuss the history of earned value and what caused the “gurus” to come up with this “crazy” idea. She will discuss some of the reasons the metrics are not working for us and present techniques that will make your efforts of collecting earned value metrics make sense and help you identify issues while they are small, before they get out of hand. She will also present her controversial idea of being able to also lose value, i.e., taking value away by reopening a previously completed work package that now needs rework.
