Why are we working so hard to provide the numbers, but they don’t seem to be doing anything to help us control our project?
Why are we being forced to do this in the first place?

Come hear Ursula Kuehn, PMP, EVP, author of Integrated Cost and Schedule Control in Project Management, show you how to make your earned value metrics tell a story. She will discuss the history of earned value and what caused the “gurus” to come up with this “crazy” idea. She will discuss some of the reasons the metrics are not working for us and present techniques that will make your efforts of collecting earned value metrics make sense and help you identify issues while they are small, before they get out of hand. She will also present her controversial idea of being able to also lose value, i.e., taking value away by reopening a previously completed work package that now needs rework.

Ms. Kuehn has been a certified Project Management Professional since 1995 and earned her certification as an Earned Value Professional in 2006. She has devoted her career to teaching, mentoring, and consulting Earned Value Management techniques in order to facilitate her own tax dollar to be spent more effectively. She holds a BS in Mathematics and an MS in Operations Research, which has prepared her as an expert in the earned value management field.

Kuehn's company, UQN and Associates, is a Registered Education Provider (REP) with the Project Management Institute (PMI) and her class, based on her book, gets rave reviews from the students.

Driving Directions

Directions from I-95 & Rte 50: From Rt 50, take Exit 5 (Rte 410 W), bear RIGHT onto East-West Hwy, at first light turn slight RIGHT onto Ellin Rd, make LEFT onto Harkins Rd, make first RIGHT into CSC parking lot. Stop at the guard station to provide ID & location in building. Metro access is the Orange Line at New Carrollton; walk to tall CSC building.
