About the Program
Trust and Influence: What Every Successful PM Needs to Know
Project management professionals face many challenges when it comes to leading projects of all sizes-not the least of which is managing the myriad stakeholder relationships required to achieve results. The pressure to master the "soft stuff" while simultaneously executing tasks with discipline and ease adds stress to an already demanding role. This is especially true in turbulent times, when the ability to be influential can make the difference between project stalls and project successes.
Based on "The Trusted Advisor," a book that many in professional services consider the resource for successful business relationships, Trust and Influence: What Every Successful PM Needs to Know is a practical exploration of how to transform the often-challenging experience of managing stakeholder relationships. Attendees will learn how to boost their personal score on each of the four essential elements of trust and apply specific strategies
to be more influential project-wide.
About the Speaker
Andrea Howe has been in the consulting profession for the past 18 years. From 1992 to 2000, she worked for American Management Systems (AMS), a $1B technology consulting firm, as a client relationship manager, program manager, project manager, business analyst, facilitator, and software developer. As a leader in a two-year proposal effort to develop software to be used by over 30,000 procurement staff, Andrea contributed directly to the award of the largest contract ever won by the company ($340M). Her last corporate assignment before taking the entrepreneurial leap was director of leadership development, where Andrea oversaw the design of AMS’s leadership and consulting curricula and managed a $1+ million budget for a variety of staff development programs.
Today, Andrea is one of four people in the world authorized by Charles H. Green, co-author of "The Trusted Advisor," to deliver programs on trust-based relationships. Her clients include top global firms in accounting, consulting, and other professional services.
