Lt. Col. Robert Baird

Robert (Bob) Baird has served for over 23 years in the Marine Corps as both an enlisted Marine and an infantry Officer filling a variety of training, operations, planning, and command billets. He served in Afghanistan as a planner for special operations integration and implementation of Provincial Reconstruction Teams (PRT) during 2003. During his 2006 deployment to Multi-National Force-West in Iraq, Lt. Col. Baird led the operational planning team to establish an initial Iraqi Police capability in Al Anbar Province. Lt. Col. Baird served as G-3, Director of Operations, for the Marine Corps University/Education Command, acted as the lead planner for I Marine Expeditionary Force (I MEF) rapid response to hurricanes Katrina and Rita, and was the Chief of Plans for I MEF under General Mattis.
Lt. Col. Baird earned a Bachelors Degree from the University of Maryland and a Masters of Operational Studies from Marine Corps University where his thesis was published in the Journal of Studies in Conflict and Terrorism. He is an honor graduate of the Naval War College, and a graduate of the Marine Corps School of Advanced Warfighting.
Driving Directions:
- From the North or South, take I-95 Exit 148.
- At the bottom of the ramp turn toward US 1 (east) and proceed to the Gate.
- Stop at the sentry booth and get a visitor pass if needed. Proceed approximately 3.5 miles.
- The Clubs at Quantico are located in the second building on the right.
- The meeting will be in the SNCO Club located on the left side of the building.
