This program emphasizes the preparation and delivery of vital decision support information. The focus will be on methods for developing and presenting the KEY outputs generated by using sound project management concepts to the organizational decision maker. Attendees will learn approaches and techniques for developing and presenting information so that the decision maker thoroughly understands what is being communicated, and comprehends why it is important that the decisions are based upon the truth being provided by the PM process and the PM professional. After all, it is what it is!
During this workshop, you will explore graphical and column data options for creating and delivering the project status—current, cum-to-date and at-completion—in a way that enables clear and concise communication. This course will comprehensively examine the creative use of graphical techniques to provide a snapshot or "quick look" of project conditions and potential directions with the necessary backup numerical data available for more detail analysis.
Students will become accomplished at determining and displaying meaningful variance tolerance thresholds for "exception" reporting. The prediction of future status as a result of variances that break the thresholds will be carefully analyzed and "three point" trend indicators will be incorporated in the reporting process. The actual preparation of a GOOD variance analysis will be included among the several hands-on, real-world preparation and interpretation exercises administered during this program.
The information coming out of the PM process is clearly valuable. The ability to determine what it says and to communicate it in an easy to understand, yet comprehensive way to the decision maker is PRICELESS!
