A PMI OPM3 Standard Update – How Organizational Project Management Helps Companies Achieve Strategic Objectives Through Projects, Programs, and Portfolios

The presentation will provide an update to PMI’s Organizational Project Management Maturity Model (OPM3), a standard process that helps organizations achieve strategic objectives thorough projects, programs and portfolios. The presentation will include an overview of organizational project management (key concepts) and an overview of PMI’s OPM3 Standard (second version was released in December 2009) and associated tools and services.

About the Speaker

Scott Patton,
Managing Partner, Patton and McClelland Consulting

Scott Patton, MBA, PMP is Managing Partner of Patton and McClelland Consulting. He helps clients develop strategies and implement solutions to improve corporate project, program, and portfolio management capabilities. Using proven tools and processes for benchmarking and competency assessments, he identifies opportunities for improvement that fit the strategic objectives of the organization. 

Scott’s functional expertise is in organizational project management and technical project and risk management. 

He supported PMI’s development of the Organizational Project Management Maturity Model (OPM3), was one of the first certified as an OPM3 Assessor and Consultant, and is currently a member of PMI’s OPM3 Advisory Group. Scott is also an adjunct professor for project management at Georgetown University.
