About the Program
Three Steps to Successful Financial Management for Project Managers
This presentation will focus on steps that every program or project manager should follow in order to successfully manage the finances associated with their effort. Highlights include discussions on understanding and managing a budget, building and continually updating spend plans, and key procurement activities for project managers. The objective of this session is to help project managers of all experience levels understand their financial management responsibilities, and ways to achieve them.
About the Speaker
Ms. Kate Miller
Kate Miller serves as the Deputy Associate Chief Information Officer, Applications Development, an organization of over 2000 employees that builds, tests, delivers and maintains integrated application systems for the Internal Revenue Service. Previously, she was the head of Business Integration (BI) within Enterprise Services. In this role, she led the 500-person BI organization in the delivery of enterprise-wide process standards, guidance, tools and services that enables the IRS to successfully deliver the systems that administer more than 200 million taxpayer records.
Before joining the IRS, Ms. Miller was a Vice President at CGI-AMS, Inc. (formerly AMS, Inc.), a leading information technology consulting firm. She spent the majority of her career at AMS supporting federal, state, and local government agencies by developing and implementing AMS customer off-the-shelf public sector software products.
Driving Directions
Directions from I-95 & Rte 50: From Rt 50, take Exit 5 (Rte 410 W), bear RIGHT onto East-West Hwy, at first light turn slight RIGHT onto Ellin Rd, make LEFT onto Harkins Rd, make first RIGHT into CSC parking lot. Stop at the guard station to provide ID & location in building. Metro access is the Orange Line at New Carrollton; walk to tall CSC building.
